The Spanish women marched to their third straight victory in as many weekends, topping Italy on Saturday evening in Madrid.

Spain, which beat Great Britain on Aug. 20 and France on Aug. 27, outscored Italy on every event to earn a comfortable victory, 222.95-217.65.

2006 world champion Vanessa Ferrari took the top spot in the all-around, edging Spanish national champion Ana María Izurieta, 56.60-56.45. Ferrari looked fitter than she had earlier in the year, tumbling a piked full-in and tucked full-in on floor exercise.

Izurieta's solid beam set brought the highest score of the competition, 14.65. After opening with a Yurchenko mount; she tumbled two flip flops into a huge two-foot layout; threw a side aerial into side somi; and dismounted with two flip flops into 2 1/2 twist.

Another Spaniard, 2010 Youth Olympian María Paula Vargas, was third all-around. Teammate Claudia Menéndez had the top scores on vault (double-twisting Yurchenko) and floor exercise (piked full-in mount and tucked full-in dismount).

Canadian-born Silvia Colussi-Pelaez made her case for a berth on Spain's world team with the team's best score of the day on uneven bars (Endo, Jaeger; Stalder-full to Tkatchev; double layout; 14.00).

Italy's Georgia Campana had the best score of the day on uneven bars (elgrip fulls into straddled and piked Jaegers; double layout; 14.30)

Portugal dropped out of the team competition when Alexandra Choon withdrew. Zoi Lima finished 12th and Ekaterina Kislinskaya finished 13th.
