First-day leader Chris Brooks (Oklahoma) defeated U.S. champion Jonathan Horton to take the U.S. Winter Cup all-around title Saturday in Las Vegas. Brooks edged his former Oklahoma teammate 175.800-174.750, with Michigan junior Chris Cameron finishing third with 172.450. Horton, a double medalist at the 2008 Olympics, erred on high bar (13.850) but improved his all-around score 86.500 on Thurday to a meet-high 88.250 on Saturday. Oklahoma gymnasts took four of the six individual titles, which also were determined by both days' scores. 2009 world floor exercise finalist Steven Legendre won floor (15.250/15.650) and vault (16.250/16.300). Alexander Naddour won pommel horse (15.150/14.750) and Brooks won high bar (15.600/15.500). Ohio State's Brandon Wynn won still rings (15.150/15.450). 2009 world high bar finalist Danell Leyva (Universal), who finished fourth all-around, won parallel bars (15.400/15.400).
